I’m excited to announce that FabGabBlog’sFriday hits quadrupled thanks to Glamour.com choosing me as their “best dressed reader of the day” and by including FabGab’s link into the article.  The below excerpt is from Glamour’s “Slave to Fashion” blog.  :)

I just had to post this cute new Victoria’s Secret video featuring the beloved Miranda Kirr trying on some new bikinis.  It’s reminding me to work out and get ready for bikini season… She’s cute isn’t she?

I spotted her at a fashion show years before VS did and knew she was special even back then.

Who’s your favorite VS model?  I love Alessandra’s photos and think she’s the most photogenic but way too skinny in person.  So if I were given the challenging task to create THE perfect Victoria’s Secret Angel, I’d pick and put together the following:  Doutzen Krous’s face, Marisa Miller’s body, Heidi Klum’s personality and Miranda Kirr’s sweet dance moves.

I love surrounding my office space with beautiful images and I’m a huge fan of inspirational boards.  So running into these beautiful shots made me want to refresh my apartment’s inspiration boards.  It made me happy just seeing these so I thought I’d share.

An entire inspirational image-wall is pretty daring but this bold move paid off below.

I love that this neutral room below has matching pops of pink on the inspirational board’s border and chairs.

There is a calm sweetness to the room below.

I imagine that a lively interior decorator lives here.

I like the orderliness of this room below.

The baroque furniture is so me and kind of reminds me of my bedroom .  I can see this inspirational wall taking the place of artwork at a big city boutique hotel.

For the room below, I would have liked to have seen a high-backed, glossy white baroque style chair instead.

And finally, a shot of my glamourous dream office.

Tonight (April 15-April 16th), April 18th and April 25th are marked on my calendar as Targe’t!  And for good reasons.

April 15th is the 24hr. shopping party starting at 11pm in NYC at 481 8th ave and 34th st.  (Don’t you love NY?)  I figure since my blog (just started at the end of Feb) made the over 1000 visitors mark at the start of this week that I deserve to shop and party (but who really needs an excuse for this, right?)

They’re celebrating and launching the new Zac Posen line (which is not available in stores until April 25th, another date stored on my fashion calendar.)  I can’t decide whether to check out the mayhem on opening night and risk getting stampeded on by some raging Zac-crazed fashionistas or whether to go the next day during work hours where I’ll avoid the mad rush but lose out on the excitement.  Good thing is that they are promising surprises every hour and performances by The Like and DJs Kid America, The Other Will and Luisiul.  I’ll post pictures after the event for you all!

April 18th is the much-awaited Eugenia Kim hat launch. NJ Target, here I come!  I already own 2 Eugenia Kim hats -one is shown below and the other is an outrageously large navy hat once used for a Vogue editorial (see below).  It’s so large I’ve only been able to wear it to a Hamptons polo match and to the Hamptons beach for full coverage from the sun.  Otherwise, wearing it feels totally obnoxious (albeit fashion-forward).  I bought both at a sample sale and look forward to adding another to the collection.

red, swingy mini-dress – Maggy M $26 from TJ MAXX, hat – Eugenia Kim sample sale $150, purse – Guess, heels – Fergie

You’ve seen my photo with Olivia at New York’s Fashion Week.   Now see her daily outfits this month at Vogue’s UK site!

I’ve always admired Olivia Palermo’s fashion sense and personal style as I think she dresses in a classy, fashionable manner – kind of sophisticated for her age too.  So it was interesting and refreshing to see how she mixes the high and low on a daily basis (something I try to do daily).  It seems she has a penchant for designer purses i.e. Hermes, and Chloe, and effortlessly mixes in vintage finds with Ann Taylor and Zara!  Here are a couple of my other favorite looks from Olivia.

Thanks to the fashion spot, we’ve got a couple examples on how anyone can copy her look for less.

photo from fashion spot.BROWN BLAZER, $42 at Yoox SCOOP-NECK SLIP, $38 at Yesstyle BIB NECKLACE, $21.44 at Kohl's BUMBLE BEE STUDS, $15 at Topshop TWEED TROUSERS, $25 at Spiegel CLASSIC RED POLISH, $7.49 at Walgreens

NAVY BLAZER, $27 at Forever 21 GOLD SQUARE NECKLACE, $100 at Anthropologie SILK TWIST-SLEEVE SLIP, $55 at Bluefly GEM STONE BELT, $37.61 at Asos JACQUARD PENCIL SKIRT, $112 at Anne Klein T-STRAP PLATFORMS, $50 at DSW OVERSIZED CLUTCH, $36 at Zara

And if you’d like more inspiration from Olivia Palermo’s wardrobe, you can actually search her name in Polyvore.com and find sets inspired by her outfits then learn where to buy each piece!

She has since moved out of her Tribeca 1bedroom but this is the only available picture of Olivia Palermo’s closet which was 63 sq. ft and made with Elfa shelves.  You know how I love the sneak peek into celebrity closets!  Here are two other recent entries about celebrity closets if you want to see more. 1. 2.

Here are some of the NY fashionistas that were out shopping and enjoying the unseasonably warm weather in April.

I’ve never wanted a paperweight.  Until now.  I just came across the prettiest paperweights ever at iomoi.com

I suddently find myself needing a “FabGab” $42 paperweight for my desk.  Take a look at these scrumptious patterns.

Aren’t they just perfectly preppy and chic?  Tory Burch would totally die if she knew someone thought of and made these before her.

Much to my delight, I learned from feverishly browsing the rest of their site, that they also make the most beautiful customizable pencils, stationary, lucite trays, tote bags, pillows, ice buckets and more!  See below.

Any of these would make the perfect present for a housewarming gift, a hostess gift, or simply that person who has everything.

Who doesn’t love a personalized and pretty something something?

Henri Bendel is a girly girl’s shopping fantasy come true.  Just its recognizable brown and white stripe logo and shopping bag make my heart pump with joy.  They have the most beautiful collections of: accessories (see their hat collection below), artful makeup displays and in-house branded products ever.  All they need is a fabulous shoe collection to match.

I’m one of those weird shoppers that really gets into the whole experience.  I browse the products, yes but I also take in all the displays, the signs, the graphics, the packaging and window fronts.  I get inspired by it all and am delighted by all the creativity surrounding me.  Bendel’s has some of my favorite displays and graphics.  Thanks to their famed illustrator, Izak Zenou their store’s interior and general branding are both distinctive and fabulous.  Here’s a look into what I saw at Bendel’s this week.

They make Bendel luggage now!

I like this studded red frame!

This lady found the clear totes so fascinating that she wouldn’t move out of the way and I had no patience for her so here’s the beautiful display… and her backside.

Aren’t these the most precious handmade fashion dolls, ever?

These perfume tester papers were so pretty I had to take one of each home!  I think I’ll use them for bookmarks.  How would you use them?

I wish I could have taken more pictures but Bendel’s big security guards kept me from taking as many as I wanted :(

More about my favorite fashion illustrators (including Izak) later…

A coveted insider’s look into the glamourous, “Devil Wears Prada” (Vogue) is on auction NOW.    If you’re willing to unload some cash for some firsthand fabulosity, you can spend a week in Vogue’s offices!  “Tailored to the individual interests and skill set of the auction winner, the week at Vogue” will benefit the RFK Center.   “As part of this experience, the winner of this dream package will get to attend a fashion show during New York’s Fashion Week” and receive the following:

  • The September Issue DVD
  • In Vogue
  • Vogue Living: Houses, Gardens, People
  • The World in Vogue: People, Parties, Places
  • The Teen Vogue Handbook

For many, living and breathing Vogue for 1 week is a fashion fantasy come true.  I know it would be for me.  According to the online charity site, the next bid is going for $2100 (with increasing bid increments at $250).  In my mind, I’ve already calculated that that’s worth a new shiny Chanel purse and with the bidding having just started, it could soon increase to an entirely new Chanel wardrobe!  It just started yesterday and goes on through the end of the month.  And get this, they say that the package is valued at a whopping $10,000.  Let’s see how much fashionistas are willing to spend.

If I were able to pay for this overpriced package, here are the things that would be on my to-do list.

  • Follow Anna Wintour around like a lovesick puppy and shamelessly marvel at her fabulousity all day
  • Hide Anna’s sunglasses so I could see her real reactions to everything
  • Photograph all the fashionistas at Vogue and post here so you could all see what Vogue-ettes really wear each day of the week
  • Play dress -up in that famous closet and then beg to borrow/keep things everyday until someone finally gives in
  • Taste everything in their famous cafeteria and try to feed the skinny bitches around me
  • Attend a photo shoot, help style it, then beg for freebies
  • Create a personal photo shoot for Anna and yours truly

Did I miss anything?  What would be on YOUR list of to dos?

I make it a point to check out the window displays in NY.  I mean it’s somewhat unavoidable as I love to “window shop” and the displays here are so creative and eye-catching anyways.  But I’m fascinated by them so much to the point that I sometimes stroll over to my favorite window shop areas (such as 5th ave.) just to see what the windows are looking like!  Bergdorf, Barney’s Bloomies and Bendel’s are my usual favorites in NY…funny that they all start with “B”.  Below are some pics from my latest stroll down 5th Ave.

The beauty and the beast themed windows at Bergdorf Goodman are below

Diesel’s window gave new meaning to “buttface”

The Bendel windows always look enticing to me…

Perhaps most surprising were the St. John  windows.  St. John is a brand that I associate with my mother’s generation.  I see it as a staid Chanel wannabe with boxy cuts and Nancy Reagan as its muse.  But their windows showcased a cooler, much younger Upper East Side fashion set.  I found myself wanting to wear all the creamy delicacies shown below.

Look below to see who I ran into on my way home!  I couldn’t help but scream out “hello, Kitty.”  What can I say, I’m a child at heart.
