August 2012

This Calvin Klein sheath bought on sale at Marshall’s, has a conservative, work-friendly cut and a simple color-palette that makes it a modern addition to any wardrobe.   Above, I styled it with a Sinclaire trench, Chanel shoes and Nine West heels (with added bow clips from Aldo).

I paired the dress again with my JLo studded heels and Forever 21 jacket (a Chanel copy) worn 3 ways here.

These days, now that most of my stuff is still in boxes, I feel so uninspired when getting dressed.  It’s so hard to find things!  I can’t wait for California Closets to get here and build me new closets in this new apartment!

Who wears short shorts?  Um, apparently I do.  Here’s a pair of polka-dot, navy pleated shorts from Charlotte Russe – a total deal at around $15.  Whenever showing so much leg, I like to stay more covered up on top.

Above, I’ve paired the shorts with a lacy navy H&M blouse also worn here.   And below, I’ve paired the same pair of shorts with a light sweater that I found at Marshall’s for around $20.

Can you believe summer is almost over?

Hi everyone!  I have been so MIA and feel like I have not posted in ages!  The move into NYC and the new job has completely occupied me leaving me little time or energy to focus on my first love, fashion and all things style.  But I’m baaaack and I promise you I will try to post and update more frequently!

To kickoff the return and also to celebrate the 500th Facebook fan, I’m running another fab freebie thanks to Sweet Fashion Deals who is sponsoring the beautiful earrings pictured below.  All you have to do is like my FB page and post your favorite entry onto your FB with the @FabgabBlog included in your comment so I know you’ve entered.  1 entry per FB post share.  Giveaway ends at the end of this month, August 31 so enter now!

Every season, there is a new trend that catches my fancy and gives me new reason to forgo my self-promise to quit shopping.  This fall, it is the cap toe shoe.  The shiny metallic detail is almost a continuation of last season’s color-blocking trend but with a glam touch.  Here is the affordable Zara heel that had me once again, adding to my shoe collection. I loved it for its basic neutral colors and could see it working with my varied black and white outfits. (It also comes in crimson as shown below for $79.99).

If you prefer a softer, less dramatic palette, here are some pretty options from Louboutin, Zara and Louis Vuitton (left to right)

For the fashionista who prefers comfortable flats, here are some cute options. (top left to right Sigerson Morrison, Manolo Blahnik.  Bottom left to right: Sigerson Morrison, Dorothy Perkins).

And if you haven’t had enough, here are four more! (top left to right – Alice & Olivia, Louboutin.  bottom left to right – Elizabeth & James, Topshop)

What do you think?  Is this a trend on your must-have list this fall?
