To prevent getting bored of my clothes, I’m always challenging myself to never wear the same outfit twice.  So similar to other posts on how to wear   1shirt, 3ways,  1dress, 3ways     1zara skirt, 3ways  and most recently, 1 red skirt 5ways, here is 1 Ann Taylor cardigan 3 ways!

I love the contrast grey sparkle trim which to me, made the chocolate cardigan from Ann Taylor worth the buy.   Here I wore it for work with a shiny dress by Averly that I bought at Lord & Taylor last year.  I cinched it with an old Gucci belt and wore some edgy heels by Fergie to set the whole conservative look off.

This disco ball of a dress is by Calvin Klein – found for a steal at Marshall’s.  the tights and bracelet are from Ann Taylor loft and the shoes are Miss Sixty – I love the exposed zipper detail in the back.  The fur detachable coat that I wrote about here is by Tibi from Saks and the purse is Prada from Saks.

My 3rd and final outfit for work is the same Ann Taylor cardigan this time worn over the only Anna Sui item I own, a tweed dress bought at Target.  I accessorized the look with my fur purse written about here a Kate Spade necklace that my husband surprised me with and my heels bought from Saks.

What’s your favorite outfit?

It seems every year, I end up buying a new coat.  It’s not like I need another.  It’s just that I’m terrible at resisting the new fashions.  And coats are such easy purchases to rationalize.  After all, I figure that they’re practical AND stylish.  And being that it’s an outerwear piece, it practically ends up paying for itself within just the first season that I wear it. (I’m good, aren’t I?)

This year, there were a couple coats that I found irresistible.  The first one that I fell in love with is this Ann Taylor leopard coat.  I liked the unique color scheme on the leopard print.  It’s a softer, more subdued print, isn’t it?  Plus I got a great deal during their friends and family 40% off sale.   This is how I wore it at the Juicy Couture Spring 2012 Presentation .

Here you see me wearing it with skinny corduroy black jeans, Aldo booties, bling necklace a swingy tee which you can’t see, Chanel purse and the new coat.  More on the Juicy couture presentation later.

This past week I also wore the coat to work with this Tibi dress from Saks.

The Cynthia Rowley fur-trimmed cardigan is from an amazing Marshall’s deal that I found for $35.  The BCBG suede shoes were on sale for $60, the Tibi dress on sale for around $100 and the hello kitty purse a couple hundred.

My 2nd coat purchase is a sale coat from Saks also by Tibi.  I fell in love with this because it was also something completely different from what I already owned and looked so modern and glam.

Guess what!  The Tibi coat is convertible and can be turned into a fur vest for warmer days.  Here, I’ve worn it with a necklace from Off 5th, Calvin Klein dress from Marshall’s, bracelet from Ann Taylor Loft, and suede fringed boots. It was a simple dress with no hanger appeal.  I knew it had great styling potential though.  My favorite part about the dress are its pockets – perfect for hiding a lip gloss or cell phone.

Is anyone else excited to layer and dress for the fall weather?

I love my new Cynthia Steffe cardigan.  It’s cozy, warm and perfect for the winter.  It’s also the perfect throw on for the workplace because my office is so darn cold.  I actually have a snuggie-like blanket stuffed into my cabinet for those days when the air conditioner is blasting in the office.  But this Cynthia Steffe cardi is a much more fab option.

Here I am wearing it with my Forever 21 dress, Hello Kitty purse and necklace from Off 5th.

Today I wore the cardigan over my Saks Fifth Avenue women’s collection sheath dress with crystal necklace and Bruno Magli boots.

And before that I wore it with my Tibi dress, Ann Taylor coat and BCBG suede heels shown below.Lastly, you see it worn with a charcoal dress with the Gryphon coat that I’m selling (email me if you want it), bejeweled dress by Maggy London, flowered tights and Prada purse

By the time I started showing, I had to wear coats.  And so for months, I rarely succeeded at scoring a subway seat.  Finally though at 31 weeks, I think I’ve learned the trick.  Open coat, stick out belly, stand in front of seated men and look exasperated as possible while holding belly. Usually works!

Here are 3 outfit posts of what I wore to work, all worn with my Ann Taylor leopard coat.

Tahari dress, Express cardigan, Bruno Magli boots, Fur stole from Saks Fifth Avenue, Guess purse

Cynthia Steffe dress bought at TJMaxx, Bruno Magli boots, necklace from Thailand

Calvin Klein dress, necklace bought at TJMaxx, Cynthia Rowley cashmere cardigan

Hi everyone!  I hope you’re all doing well.  Here in NY, most of us are finally back up and running and it feels great to finally have heat, hot water and tv/internet again.  No more mitten-wearing to bed for me!

Here I’m wearing my Calvin Klein cowl-neck dress worn 4 other ways here and here.  Being that it’s such a basic neutral, I find that I can easily wear it again and again for work each time, creating new looks.

I’ve paired it with a sparkly cardigan from Express, brooches (all gifts from my bridal shower which were used on my floral bouquet), and a fur stole.

The purse is Prada and the leopard coat is from Ann Taylor also worn in this style diary entry.

TGIF, right??

As a continuation to my recent sequin style diary post shown here, here is a follow-up with my sequin black sweater that I wore to work.

I toned it down with an Ann Taylor denim colored blouse, a Tahari skirt and conservative boots.

The trench is by Sinclair 10 and was bought at Saks.  It is featured in the style diary posts here.

The tote bag was a freebie from NY fashion week.

I’m so tired from having just come back from a mini-vacation to Florida, that I’m cutting this post short.  More later!

Here’s my outfit from last week.  Ann Taylor leopard coat, worn with a casual, off the shoulder grey sweater and my new fuschia cordoroy jeans

The jeans are by AG and I was so excited because I was able to get them for just $33 after my employee discount at Saks.

The purse is also from Saks and is by Prada.  I added the charms which were bought during a trip I made to Hong Kong.

The fur stole is from the Limited, and the over-the-knee boots are Guess. This weekend I have to work wahhh…

I’m afraid that the warm weather that I love is quickly slipping away.  So any warm weekend that I get during the early fall months, makes me want to wear something short and summery, just in case it’s my last hurrah.  This past weekend was no exception.  Sunday morning was bright and sunny and having just sold my bridal petticoat for more than I paid for it, I was in a terrific mood.

The tee shirt is from by Threads from Off 5th (I bought it for about $15 after my employee discount), the slim black cardigan is from H&M $19.99 and the skirt is a Daffy’s (discount retailer) purchase that I bought about 10 years ago also for about $20.  Phew, it still fits!  The flats with chain detail are BCBG ( I think I bought them at TJ Maxx a couple years ago) and the chain bracelet was an impulse buy at Ann Taylor Loft this past week. Sunglasses are Chanel from Saks.

My nails are extra fun this week.  I discovered thanks to a friend of mine and have been hooked ever since.  It’s like an online photo album where you can collect images that you love from all over the web and organize the photos that you already have from your own computer.  I recently started a manicure/pedicure collection of images that I’ve discovered while browsing pinterest that has inspired me to do something fun to my nails. Here’s the image that inspired me.Ever  have one of those “I can DO THIS!” motivational moments?  Well this picture inspired mine because I actually came home from fashion week last season with a ton of glittery nail polish.  Here is what I did to my nails Sunday night.

Diamonds are a girls’ best friend and that’s what my new at-home manicure reminds me of.  How do you like this?

I went a little crazy and got so inspired that I didn’t stop at my hands.  I went a little nuts on my feet too. This is the picture of patterned nails that inspired me.

And here are my toesies.  🙂 silly me.. I smudged my big toe but strangely, the smudge left a faint heart mark.

Damnit, why are my feet wrinkly?  Is it all the hours under the sun that I’ve logged, all the beach-walking in the Bahamas for my birthday, or the hours of foot massage that I’ve indulged in?  Aging sucks.

Known for superb construction and a minimalist aesthetic, Yeohlee lucked out with beautiful weather this year after having taken a gamble on her outdoor venue.  159 E 65th street was actually someone’s personal townhouse and so we were asked to sign papers promising we would not take photos of the property (other than the fashion show and the  models themselves).  Being that we were outside in the communal garden, I was surprised that more neighbors didn’t try to crash the party and/or peep out from their windows.  Aren’t Upper East Sid-ers notorious for loving fashion??

My mad rush over from Lincoln Center had me in a New York frenzy.  But upon stepping into the garden sanctuary and stepping over the cobblestone floor into my front row seat, I felt a sense of immediate calm, something Yeohlee had obviously orchestrated.

The fashion show signaled its beginnings with Zen chimes and sort of a new age musician, perfect for this Asian fashion show.  We were further transported to another world simply by watching the models walk in slow motion almost in a peaceful, zombie-like way.

At every fashion show, I’m always looking out for that one piece that I would wear, whether it’s a designer I love or not.  At Yeohlee, I found this adorable springtime coat.  Structured, feminine, artsy and definitely unique, I could definitely see myself being able to rock this.

Here’s my video of the fashion show finale.

Zimbio has me posted as part of their Yeohlee front row collection (shown below).  I’m wearing a vintage dress with an Ann Taylor leather jacket, Chanel purse and sunglasses and simple ballerina flats – AND for the last time because I’m giving this dress away to a lucky reader!   If you want the dress, subscribe!  Just subscribe, post an announcement on  your FB, blog and/or twitter about why you love FabGabBlog and you could win the dress!  Please remember to leave your email as a comment here showing me the urls where you posted -otherwise I won’t be able to contact you.  Each post brings you closer to winning the dress.

I’ve always admired Olivia Palermo’s fashion sense and personal style as I think she dresses in a classy, fashionable manner – kind of sophisticated for her age too.  So it was interesting and refreshing to see how she mixes the high and low on a daily basis (something I try to do daily).  It seems she has a penchant for designer purses i.e. Hermes, and Chloe, and effortlessly mixes in vintage finds with Ann Taylor and Zara!  Here are a couple of my other favorite looks from Olivia.

Thanks to the fashion spot, we’ve got a couple examples on how anyone can copy her look for less.

photo from fashion spot.BROWN BLAZER, $42 at Yoox SCOOP-NECK SLIP, $38 at Yesstyle BIB NECKLACE, $21.44 at Kohl's BUMBLE BEE STUDS, $15 at Topshop TWEED TROUSERS, $25 at Spiegel CLASSIC RED POLISH, $7.49 at Walgreens

NAVY BLAZER, $27 at Forever 21 GOLD SQUARE NECKLACE, $100 at Anthropologie SILK TWIST-SLEEVE SLIP, $55 at Bluefly GEM STONE BELT, $37.61 at Asos JACQUARD PENCIL SKIRT, $112 at Anne Klein T-STRAP PLATFORMS, $50 at DSW OVERSIZED CLUTCH, $36 at Zara

And if you’d like more inspiration from Olivia Palermo’s wardrobe, you can actually search her name in and find sets inspired by her outfits then learn where to buy each piece!

She has since moved out of her Tribeca 1bedroom but this is the only available picture of Olivia Palermo’s closet which was 63 sq. ft and made with Elfa shelves.  You know how I love the sneak peek into celebrity closets!  Here are two other recent entries about celebrity closets if you want to see more. 1. 2.
