Looking for fall fashions?  Look no further.  Gap Kids had some great autumn colors in their boys collection for back to school which were the perfect thing to wear for our Central Park shoot with Danny Weiss.

The classic mustard yellows, deep wines, and navy mix are timeless enough to ensure you won’t cringe when looking back on these back to school shots years later.

With our suitcase packed with Kidpik Basics and Cat and Jack pieces, Juliet and I headed to Central Park.  Styling kids has been a passion of mine ever since having one myself and ever since I left my professional career where I used to style all the Saks Fifth Avenue models at the LI store.  As part of a continued photography series with Danny Weiss, I styled Pilar (pictured below) along with my daughter in coordinated outfits.   Luckily, Pilar was just as into an impromptu tea party as Juliet was!  The two met, and immediately bonded.

As if they were friends forever, they happily blew bubbles, played pretend and posed supermodel style with no fussing or complaining about accessories or outfit changes.  They knew the drill.  080116_shelbyjohn_1517 080116_shelbyjohn_1473 080116_shelbyjohn_1451

I’ve styled hundreds of models while working in PR and in fashion whether it be for Samsung photo shoots, promotional street teams, fashion shows or for Saks Fifth Avenue.  Nowadays, I style mostly my 3.5 year old daughter and child models like Kalia pictured below.  This photo shoot was with renowned photographer, Danny Weiss and Kidpik Basics clothes.

Shoes are her own and the fanny pack and flower crown were from my daugher’s closet.  Clothes are from Kidpik Basics.kidpik basics, central park photo shoot, child models

For this second round, Kalia changed into a Kidpik denim jacket, comfy, striped long-sleeved tee (also Kidpik) and a fun tutu from Cat and Jack.

I love the carefree, summer vibe I’m getting from these shots.  And they’re making me miss the warmer months!  Thanks to Danny Weiss and team!  Stay tuned for more shots from this outdoor Central Park shoot!

So I’m finally pregnant enough to really look pretty obvious about it.  There is no hiding it now.  I was eagerly anticipating this moment only for the advantage of getting to secure myself a subway seat.  However now that I’m truly showing and not questionably fat in the belly, I now have to cover up and wear coats!  Dang still no one offers me a seat on the subway!   Give a pregnant woman a break, NY-ers!

Speaking of coats, I have 2 of these same exact military coats and am planning to sell one.  Message me if you’re interested!  It’s by Gryphon and was bought at Intermix (sz sm).  I can email you with additional photos of it if you like.

The coat comes with a detachable black fur collar, not shown here.

I finished off a 1200 calorie, bacon cheeseburger meal at Johnny Rockets for lunch today and totally blame the baby. She made me do it!
Here I am, showcasing my ever-growing burger-belly and so happy that non-maternity clothes still fit.

This houndstooth dress is one of my recent Century 21 finds- consider it  sort of a move-in-to-a-new-neighborhood present to myself.  I love it right now because the fabric is so stretchy and comfy, perfect for a pregnant fashionista like me!  Here I paired it with my Saks Fifth Avenue fur stole, Zara cardigan, St. John purse and booties.

I fell in love with this Chanel-inspired, blazer at Zara and knew it would be the perfect addition to my work wardrobe.

Here, I wore it with a BCBG blouse – don’t you love the exposed zipper detail?

The purse is Chanel and though it comes with a pearl chain add on, it is not shown here.

The skirt is Tahari and the shoes are Nine West.

Below, is the same blazer worn with a black top and skirt, St. John tote, bracelets from Express and a chain necklace from Jasmine Boutique.

What do you think?

My co-worker told me I looked like a real-life Tiffany’s box.  I think he was right.

Here is my outfit from earlier this week.

The whole outfit actually began with me re-discovering the antique brooch.  I created the outfit around the brooch.

I pinned it onto the fur stole that I purchased super cheap and wore it with my Amanda Vinci cardigan and Anne Klein gold, shimmery dress.  I belted the outfit with this studded gold piece which helped counter the ladylike look and added a pop of color with my floral fuschia heels.  See the dress worn completely differently here.

I love this leather bow purse which I got for Christmas from Saks.  It’s by Red Valentino.

This is a mixture of David Yurman, Betsey Johnson (bow and chain) and Forever 21 (bangle) bracelets.

What do you think?

I bought a lot of souvenirs from my trip to Thailand – with everything being so affordable, how could I resist?!  Most of course were fashion souvenirs…the best kind in my book.   One unique piece that I wore for the first time at work today was this gold lacy necklace. I loved the detail and how ornate it looked. I thought it was really special.
The dress is by Anne Klein.

The checkered blazer is by Miss Me and the chain-link tote is St. John.

The girly girl in me is loving this season’s bow trend.  It’s everywhere from Gucci to Tory Burch to Diane Von Furstenburg, to Marc by Marc Jacobs to Ralph Lauren.  So when I saw this white BCBG bow blouse at the retail store where I work during my double employee discount period, I just knew I had to have it.

Ok so I already have another white bow blouse sitting in my closet from Saks.  But this one is half-sleeved..er so I reasoned. The best thing about the blouse is that the bow is detachable so it’s like you’re getting two shirts for the price of one!

I wore it with my cardigan sweater from Forever 21, my pleated navy skirt from H&M and my Hello Kitty purse which I adore.  The navy heels are by Richard Tyler.

Here are some other inspirational pics that I found of other fashionistas wearing their favorite bow blouses.

This fashionista reminded me that you can convert any blouse into a bow blouse simply by adding a thin scarf.  How do you like that?

I love the vibrant colors color-blocked together.  This outfit reminded me a little of my bow blouse and shorts outfit shown here.

How sweet is this?  There’s something so sweet and unexpected about this pretty pink and camel color pairing.

This classic cream/black pairing caught my interest immediately.  It’s adorable, isn’t it?

If you’re a bow fan like I am, and can’t get enough,  you’ll love my earlier post featuring Flattery who is the queen of dressing in bows!  Her picture is shown below.

A lot of fashionistas blog about their style but not a lot blog about what to wear to work.  How does one transform the conservative suit into something special and fashionable?  Working in corporate fashion challenges me to test my styling skills in this manner 5-6days a week.  And because of it, I feel I’ve honed my styling skills when it comes to what to wear to work.  Here are a couple outfit examples from the past week.

Here, I’m wearing a tank from Ann Taylor and suit from Anne Klein.  Both those basics could have been pretty simple and plain on their own but I added the fur stole for a little glam, kept my hair long and wavy (which helped keep the look less austere) and carried a designer tote.  Sometimes the accessories make your outfit.  It was sort of inspired from another Ann Taylor catalog look that I fell in love with.  See it here.

Isn’t the look gorgeous?  You can shop for it here. Ever thought about wearing a belted fur vest over a suit?  Well this picture may just have you doing exactly that.

Yesterday, I wore another Ann Taylor top (hey what can I say, they had an amazing sale this weekend), with my Victoria Secret slacks and modern blazer from Brooklyn Industries. I’ve never worn this pair of pants with this blazer but I find it really works as an alternative to the traditional suit. Sorry the lighting sucks in my bedroom!

I’m loving this metallic blouse because it’s perfect as a layering piece in the trendy lace, has a cool exposed zipper and also works worn alone since it has sleeves.  Since the lace was girly, I paired it with tougher accessories including a chain bracelet (which is actually a chain taken off one of my totes), a black bling bracelet and matching earrings. Voila!  cook work wear.

Here are a couple other shots that I loved and wanted to share.
