I’m obsessed with my new diamond necklace.  It’s so versatile!  I can dress it up by wearing it to a dressy event alone or I can layer it with more casual pieces and wear it to work!

I was never into red.  In fact I used to be baffled at how my mom could wear such a bold, brazen color.  But now that bold pop colors are so in, I’ve grown to like it when paired with a more temperate color like navy.

Ok so I’m truly a fashion slave.  I’ve got a 6 day work week this week, and I just finished 2 back to back 12-hour days.  Here is what a fashion slave wears to work.

The trench is Sinclaire, the dress Calvin Klein, the shoes 9West with Aldo shoe clips and the purse and watch are Chanel.  TGIF tomorrow!

As a continuation to my last post on my love for NY, I thought it would be great to include today’s outfit shots from the heart of NYC, Times Square.

It had been a while since I had been in the middle of Times Square so it was thrilling to be back. Here, I’m wearing a suit from Calvin Klein, which I’ve taken apart and worn the skirt here.

The purse is Cynthia Steffe and the shoes are Miss Sixty.

I wore this outfit today to the Pan – Asian Chamber of Commerce’s awards ceremony.  What is dubbed as the Asian Business Oscars, has become a special event to me given I was awarded the corporate leadership, “Trailblazer” award last year.  This year, I was asked to present the award to the 2012 recipient.  I felt like I was giving up my pageant crown and in a weird way was a little sad to have finished up my term.  Here I am looking very corporate while I contemplate my last few minutes of fame

Pictured above is the President of the organization, Savio who has no idea that he is now in a fashion blog, so let’s not tell him   The purse was on sale from $400 to $150 at Marshalls, the suit was on sale at Macy’s for about $70 and the shoes were on sale for about $70 at a NY boutique. What can I say, I’m a discount diva!

I’ve always liked the flirty, feminine peplum detailing on fashion.  Now that it’s so trendy, of course, I love it even more!  Here are a couple recent outfits, both featuring peplum skirts. The sunny yellow outfit below was styled for Glamour.com.  I can’t remember the dress brand but the shoes are Pour La Victoire.

The below, grey dress is by H&M, a store that depresses me because it requires me to go up in a size.  Does anyone else feel this way?  The shoes are Pour La Victoire and the ponyhair, leopard tote is Emanuel Ungaro (a tote I bought at a consignment store).   I’ve featured the bag in other outfit posts here.

The black peplum dress featured below is Sinclaire 10 from Saks, spiked heels are Sam Edelman, and the purse is Chanel.

I wore the dress in Thailand at the hotel where Hangover II was filmed (Le Bua Hotel).

If you ever get the chance to visit Bangkok, Thailand, you must check it out!  It’s the most amazing rooftop I’ve ever seen.

I don’t remember who coined the term Greige (an inbetween color between beige and grey) but it has stuck with me ever since.

Here is my greige outfit that I wore to work.

It’s a one-piece that I found at  a NJ Korean boutique a few years ago.  I loved the puff shoulders and velvety bottom.  It had a quiet femininity and luxe factor to it that I just couldn’t resist.  Here I styled it with some textured tights and silver accessories.  I will wear it without the tights now that it has become warmer.  What do you think?

As a follow-up to my last post on orange event inspirational shots, I have here an orange sweater from JCrew that I last wore for a Lafayette fashion presentation.  Think it’s hard to style bright orange?  Try neutralizing it with brown, navy or white.  Below, you’ll see that I toned it down with brown.

I love this necklace.  It was a souvenir find from my recent trip to Thailand where I got to meet the designer and buy 3 other pieces at such a steal!  Nothing beats shopping against the Thai Baht!
