fab kids

I’m a fan of re-using what you have and the same philosophy comes up during Halloween when I’m preparing costumes for our endless series of special events.  See my last post about 8 easy DIY Costumes from last year here as an example!  This year, I took a slightly different approach and let Juliet”s favorite toys serve as the inspiration to all our make-at-home costumes.  They were so fun to create with her and for her.  See below for some costume inspiration and let me know what you think you could create at home with what you already have!

  • Baby Momma.  Does your doll love dolls?  Make her a mommy this year!  With an infinity scarf, I made her a makeshift baby carrier and stuffed her Water Baby in there.  Props could include, a (plastic) wine glass (I filled our with sparkling water), a Starbucks cup, a cellphone, a stroller, baby bottle, purse and kitchen accessories!  We glammed her up as a fab mom but you could easily do the stressed out mom look and opt for a more disheveled tee shirt and leggings paired with some under-eye circles and messy hair lol!diy costume, make at home costume, kids costumes, kids costume ideas, mommy costume, beauty salon dropout, beautician costume
  • Beautician.  If your daughter is like mine, she is obsessed with anything beauty-related.  Here she is making over Barbie’s hair, make-up and nails.  The Barbie hair styling bust came in handy for this photo opp (as well as for our recent Barbie-themed play date read more here.  You could however, easily use any long-haired doll, play make-up, or an apron filled with tools (ours was from Melissa & Doug).
  • Veterinarian.  Do you have a doctor’s set and some stuffed animals?  It’s easy to re-create this doctor’s costume with a button down shirt, glasses, a cute stuffed animal and doctor’s tools (stethoscope, thermometer, bandaids, suckers, etc).  My friend made this lab coat and gave it to us as a hand-me-down and it completed the costume!!  BTW, if you haven’t already heard of Parker, you’ve got to check him out! While he looks like your classic, cuddly teddy bear, he actually digitally interacts with an app for an immersive, augmented reality experience!  We live in the future, I tell you!parker the teddy bear, seedling bear, seedling toys, dr costume, kids costume ideas, veterinarian costume
  • Rock Star.  Encourage your kid to rock on with his/her favorite musical instrument of choice and/or a microphone.  Get flashy with the outfit, and have fun!  I gave Juliet’ an 80’s rocker look with MY fishnet stockings, hair in a side ponytail, a bright neon dress, toy guitar and sunglasses.  Must have sunglasses.rock star costume, 80s rocker, 80s rock star, kids costume ideas, diy costume

Thanks to the toy sponsors who sent us the beloved toys!  Follow us on IG and watch our IG stories to see the toys in action!

Barbie is a classic toy that Juliet and I both love.  I get nostalgic just looking at anything Barbie so it was with great joy that we hosted this posh play date with a Barbie girl theme!  We blasted the music, “I’m a Barbie girl” and invited a friend to come over and party with us.  Both dressed perfectly in pink, giggled, sang along and danced to the music.

I’m a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world
Life in plastic, it’s fantastic
You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere
Imagination, life is your creation
Come on Barbie, let’s go party!

The girls snacked on Barbie fruit-flavored gummies and took turns playing with each Barbie station that was laid out ahead of time.  barbie doll, barbie styling head, giant barbie
Thanks to Just Play Products who sent a dream package consisting of this giant Barbie doll and a Barbie styling bust, we had such an exciting time getting girly!

Standing over two feet tall, (giant) Barbie became a beautiful centerpiece for this fabulous table. Barbie Fashion Friend Doll is articulated so you can move her in fun poses and she comes dressed in a trendy removable outfit complete with stylish peep-toe shoes and beautiful rooted eyelashes!  She also comes in Black and Asian ethnicities!

The Barbie styling bust was my child-fantasy come true.  Hmph…I never did receive this item off my Christmas wish list…though I’m sure I was a good girl, (Santa)!!!  So it was with much gratefulness that I, I er …I mean Juliet unpackaged this gift.  I couldn’t believe how the styling heads of yester-years had advanced into the new year.  They now came with hands with which you could give manicures, hair that could flip and reveal a color change, and stencil or crimping sets for the hair!! How cool, right?

deluxe styling head, barbie girl, barbie beauty
Juliet is completely obsessed with hairs styling right now so she couldn’t get over all the amazing features.  The Barbie Flip & Reveal Deluxe Styling Head features color change magic! Besides the hidden surprise of the hair – flipping magic, you could add water to the nail and lip applicator to transform Barbie’s nails and lips to a beautiful shade of dark pink!  You can even use the included stencils to create fun colored designs with the chalk marker! Comb Barbie’s hair with the cute pink brush, or style and braid it into fabulous up-dos with the pink hair bands! Add a bit of flair to Barbie’s look with the bonus hair extension and decorate her nails with the tiny stickers!   And again, this Barbie styling head (unlike in years past), comes in different skin and hair colorings!  Gotta love that!!

barbie party, barbie dolls, barbie doll

We had so much fun stylin’ with these classic dolls.  They encourage friendship, fashion and fun with their endless pretend play options. We love how Barbie has extended their offerings to include dolls of all races, shapes and sizes.  And we love how Barbie has so many career options and interests to explore nowadays!  She has become so much more than a fashionable friend!

Thank you to Just Play Products for gifting us with these products.  All opinions expressed are 100% our own.

As mentioned in my prior Shopkins posh playdate post, Shopkins are all the rage!  And I can see why with their cute, colorful look and collectible nature.  Tiny toys for tiny hands that beg to be bought, Shopkins scream fun!  And for that reason, we hosted not 1 but 2 posh playdates with this Shopkins theme!  This 2nd play date was for bloggers only and included fab moms Mary (and Brinkley) from Downtown Chic Moms and Melissa (and Misa) from JustaBXmom.  Together, we enjoyed perfect weather on our rooftop and giddily watched as the girls got together and celebrated their super fandom.

shopkins party, shopkins playdate, shopkins kids party

(As the Shopkins theme song goes,)”We got a plan, the perfect party / There’s so much to celebrate / It’s a surprise, so let’s get started! / How are we gonna make this party great? / Got to make it extra special / No one’s ever seen before /Streamers, sparkles, party dresses / Check out what we got in store! / We’re thinking of fashion fiesta / A party to sweep me right off my feet! / Got to make it extra pretty / No one’s ever seen before / Flowers, glitter, and confetti / Check out what we got in store!”

I basically took our prior decor from Shopkins play date #1 and moved it outside!  Here are some quick notes about how I stayed within budget:

  • The paper fans were from Target’s dollar bin.  I creatively customized by adding Shopkins stickers to the center.
  • The cake pops are stuck into styrofoam that I wrapped in gift paper and washi tape.
  • The Shopkins plushies and costumes which were sent by PR companies were re-purposed as decor.
  • I added minature Shopkins plushies and dolls to silk florals from TJMaxx that I already had at the house.

The tiered snack tray included funtastic fruit that Juliet helped skewer, crunchy snacks and Shopkins branded M&Ms. Each tier was sprinkled with actual Shopkins toys and the top of the display was stickered with Shopkins stickers.  Matching washi tape was used as a decorative border.

Thanks to Moose Toys, each of us bloggers got to keep a Shopkins costume which had the girls smiling from ear to ear. “This is how we party! / Dressing up, throw some flinging / This is how we party! Decorating while we’re singing This is how we party!

Speaking of decorating, that is exactly what the girls did!  They decorated themselves with Shopkins tattoos,  and decorated a Shopkins coloring page with crayons & Shopkins stamps.  Apple Blossom took home a picture of herself, Cheeky Chocolate designed a cheeky chocolate coloring page and Strawberry Kiss loved coloring her own profile pic.

And of course, we had the first trade these girls have ever experienced!  A Shopkins Swapkins!  The girls (at age 4 and 6) were unbelievably nice about giving up items their friends wanted in exchange for new Shopkins they might have had their eyes on.

I barely had to intervene! kids party ideas, girls party ideas, shopkins party ideas

Each girl was given an organizer box which Juliet decorated with Shopkins stickers to stay within theme before all the guests arrived (if you follow along with our IG stories, you got to see all our fun, pre-party planning details!).  I found the teal boxes and Shopkins stickers on sale at Michaels.  As the Shopkins song goes, “what really makes the party is being with all my friends!  Good times, everybody, this party never ends!”  Well OK so after a couple hours, the party did finally end but it lives on in our hearts and minds!

Are your kids Shopkins crazed?  If so, they’re not alone!  This cutesy collectible which varies in theme from grocery items to desserts and now travel collections (season 8) hit #1 status in 2015 as the best -selling toy in the U.S.   So hosting a Shopkins-themed posh play date seemed like the only logical thing to do.  Thanks to our many helpful sponsors, we were able to treat our guests to sweets, bath bombs, plushies, stickers, toys and more.

Activities included Shopkins costume dress -up and race down the hallway, Shopkins Trouble (board game), playing with a real-life Shopkins bunny, and searching for Shopkins inside a Play doh ball!

I got the idea to hide Shopkins surprises into a Play Doh ball from one of our sponsors who sent us fizzy rainbow bath bombs which each hid a Shopkins toy inside.  Check out these amazing bath bombs Heart N Soul sent us these to share with all our Shopkins – crazed guests!

After working up an appetite, we munched on kid-friendly snacks (cheese and crackers, hummus, bread, dried fruits and fresh fruit smoothies).  Moms sipped some wine..Ok so that didn’t go along with the Shopkins theme but hey, it’s a party for us too, right?

I made the smoothie with organic watermelon juice, frozen grapes, fresh rasberries and spinach, topping it off with more Shopkins fresh fruit!  The real treat of the day however were the delicious cake pops sent to us by Baked By Tal!  In coordinating rainbow colors, and topped with sprinkles, they were a huge hit to the girls who laughed out loud at their blue, purple and red mouths afterwards.

Even though Shopkins has just launched in 2014, it has become a leading property with its tiny toy collectibles, an app, a line of dolls, and licensed goods which can be found at all major retailers, ranging in price from $2.99 to $34.99 MSRP.  Juliet was so excited to be able to share some of these goodies with her school mates that she couldn’t wait to get the party started and gift away.

We at Fab Kids, love a good party so when our besties from Gotham Love invited us to an exclusive blogger playdate at the Plaza we said YES without even referencing our already- packed June calendar.  Priorities, people!  We’ve had a grand old time just shopping through their adorable Eloise shop and always wanted to try out the Eloise themed tea party there.  We knew that it would be “mahhhvelous” and ‘rawther fancy!”  So we made sure Juliet had an outfit to match the special occasion.

Perfectly poised to match the pink, black and white party space, she happily explored all the pretty items which ranged from designer duds to Eloise books, accessories and stuffed toys.

We bought her another Eloise book to add to her collection as a souvenir!  DSC_2500

The shop is a true fantasy land for any fashionista!

Before we got the party started, Juliet was able to play a little pretend in the gorgeous stage area (where they used to have a miniature grand piano).    DSC_2494

Where’d it go?? I don’t know..

The Plaza does NOT disappoint when it comes to decor.  This room was fit for a princess!  6.8-001

The girls loved it and started their playdate with Eloise bedazzling a pink jewelry box.  My lil’ jewel loved this activity!

Afterwards, she enjoyed coloring Eloise pages, browsing the tea sets with friends, getting her face painted and choosing a dress for the Eloise fashion show!  eloise at the plaza, plaza tea party for girls, eloise tea party for kids, eloise tea partyThere was a lot of pink in this fashion show!

Each child got introduced to the runway filled with eager parents and each dressed up child took his/her own turn and spin down the runway for us momarazzis.  It was hysterically fun for all of us moms to witness!  Juliet, having had some experience modeling was not one bit shy and took her time with each sweet and sassy pose.  And at the end, they took group shots on stage and even got their sillies out!

Turns out modeling works up an appetite. Afterwards we sipped lemonade and enjoyed tea sandwiches, and beautiful desserts of all kinds!

We felt so lucky to be treated in this royal manner!  The Eloise tea room accommodated 8 kids for their playdate special.  And from the looks of it, all 8 wanted to come back for more!

eloise party, eloise at the plaza

Prices begin at $75 per child for 60 minutes, offering a semi-private section of the Eloise Tea Room.  To privatize the Tea Room, prices are $250/hour.  Pricey, I know.  My review is that it would have been reasonable at $50/head or if they had thrown in some champagne for the moms and/or an event photographer with that package price (which we luckily got given our host was a professional photographer), perhaps the $75/head would be easier to swallow.  But it IS NY and it IS the Plaza ..

What do you think?  Would this picture-perfect party be worth the expense?  It’s pretty beautiful and they say pictures are priceless..not to mention the many memories made..

I used to plan 150 events a year for Saks Fifth Avenue (along with handling all their marketing and PR needs).  So my brain is used to being filled with a zillion party planning ideas and it’s no wonder I’m always in search of my next reason to throw another fashionable party (even though I no longer work there).  Anyone who knows me knows I can use anything as an excuse to plan another party… (how does my hubby put up with me..I know…).  Emoji party anyone??

emoji party ideas and inspiration

This time, inspiration came from all the emojis happily smiling at me wherever I went.  #trending??  They were everywhere on every article of clothing, fashion accessory, kids’ backpacks, lunch boxes and now did you hear?  There’s even an emoji MOVIE coming out!

DSC_1973

Little J loves emojis! She happily sends texts with her chubby 4 year old fingers to all her friends and family filled with her carefully-chosen emojis.  And she loves imitating all the silly faces with her own.  So I decided it was time Fab Kids threw an emoji-themed party where finally, everyone had the perfect reason to show off their happy, silly, and cool emoji style.

emoji invitation, kids emoji party, how to plan an emoji party

I partnered with NY Kids Club and aptly titled the event, Mommy and Me HAPPY Hour.  It was a happy hour unlike anything you’ve ever SEEN! Imagine wine for the moms…pizza and play space for the kids.  I mean with this padded play area, you could literally, leave your child in there and sip away knowing they were having a blast!  Easy peasey.  And cheers to THAT!

Besides having wine nearby, we couldn’t help but smile ear to ear while being surrounded by all the bright, sunny yellow-not to mention all the smiling faces!  emoji party ideas, emoji party entertainment, emoji party decor, happy hour, nyc moms event

Plus did I mention the PIZZA?  Ehem, I could live on this stuff!DSC_1994To really envelop ourselves with the emoji theme, guests were challenged to come wearing their best emoji style.  What better way is there to express yourself than through fashion anyways??  Of course, Fab kids brought it!

emoji party ideas, emoji kids party, emoji style, emoji movie, emoji fashion

The moms didn’t disappoint either!

how to throw an emoji party

Any mom that can get into a theme is a fab mom to me btw!  Besides the super cute dress code, I made sure smiles surrounded the party people.  Everything from the walls, to the railings, to the bathroom doors were emoji-fied!   5.20-001

NY Kids Club gets 2 thumbs up for brilliantly decorating their trampoline with chalk emoji drawings too! (Insert clapping hands emoji here.)

The dessert and snack station featured a wall of linen that waterfall-ed into the table.  (Can you believe this was fabric from my college days…it used to be a curtain that I DIY-ed for my dorm).  From here, I simply taped up smiley face emoji plates which you can find here.

emoji party ideas, how to plan an emoji party, emoji themed party, emoji dessert bar

Budgeting tip!  Instead of splurging on emoji lollipops, I bought simple yellow ones and stuck emoji stickers on them.  I found this pack of emoji stickers at the dollar store).  Score!  The suckers stand perfectly in the gift-wrap covered styrofoam and add needed height to the table.  DSC_1936

Coordinated cupcake holders were filled with crunchy, organic, kid crackers.  Pretzel poo was made simply by sticking free poo printables onto mini pretzel packs. DSC_1937

The emoji cookies were from Dylan’s Candy bar, and the sprinkle cupcakes were simply topped with DIY emoji toppers and cupcake liners to complete the look.

Every kids’ party needs a fun activity.  For this emoji party, I wanted an emotional craft that was fairly quick and easy to do for kids of all ages. This emoji photo booth prop was the perfect thing!  Kids were able to customize their own face by choosing from features like sunglasses, heart eyes, smiles, and winking eyes to create a photo prop personalized to their #currentmood!  Little J was very proud of hers!DSC_2002

NY Kids Club staff were sooo awesome at helping to prepare all the pieces by cutting out everything beforehand so the kids could simply select, glue, and GO!  It was so fun that kids often could not stop at just making one.

emoji kids party, emoji themed party, how to throw an emoji party, emoji crafts, emoji diy

Once emotions were let out through this crafting activity, kids were invited to do their happy dance (all to a great playlist customized by me making sure moms could enjoy the latest happy tunes).  And GR8 games included a fun emoji ball toss, as well as a game of pass the emoji (think hot potato game and all set to the lively tune of “don’t worry be happy”.)  I had so much fun brainstorming all these details!

And thanks to Lulu Fete who supplied all the emoji balloons and decorated /executed my silly selfie station area!  This was such a blast!!

In the end, style awards and raffles were given away and guests left with goody bags and emoji balloons.  We all left smiling ear to ear! The party ended too soon for us.  We wanted to keep dancing and playing all night long.  But alas, that’s what the next party is for….

Ever since becoming a new NYC parent, I’ve enjoyed checking out the biggest baby show in NYC, the New York Baby Show hosted by New York Family.

I naively thought that I could dreamily plan out my daughter’s birthday parties for at least the first 5 years of her life. Anyone who knows me knows I love planning parties and knows that I find any random excuse to celebrate.  Kids’ White party to celebrate the end of summer, anyone??  So here I am with carefully thought-through party ideas for her 1st through 5th birthday parties..not kidding check out my Pinterest page…and then my precocious, soon-to-be 4 year old daughter throws a wrench in my plans and independently comes up with her own ideas.  Princess Party!girls birthday party, pink party, pink party decor, happy birthday bannerAnd boy was she specific!

  • “princess theme with pink”
  • “I want it to be a tea party”
  • “I want to sit in a queen’s chair!”
  • “I want a princess cake like Olivia’s (referencing a Barbie cake)”
  • “lots of CANDY!”
  • only 4 guests” (tells me exactly who to invite and that this year it has to be a small party)
  • “I want to set the table!”

OK OK!  I get it. You want to be a princess!  So back to the drawing board I went and through our collaborative research/discussion and approval phase, we came up with a non-Disney-specific, princess tea party with pink, white and metallic colors running throughout.  Here’s how I transformed our NY apartment into a picture-perfect party palace and here are tips on how you can design yours on a budget too:

Backdrop

We have a large white, blank wall currently devoid of art, or frames which not only gives our living room, a clean minimalistic feel but also allows me to easily transform the space each holiday or for any celebration.  I turned this wall into a beautiful photo backdrop with my 1 splurge piece, this beautifully printed banner from Iconica Design.  The large scale immediately brightened up the room and carried the colors throughout the space.  What do you think?

pink and white party, happy birthday, photo backdrop wall pink white, princess party

Since I’m all about the photo opp, I imagined getting a group shot with the girls all jumping on my couch with balloons in the air, waving them around like they just didn’t care…  and I loved when my vision came to life!

Balloons

Balloon garlands and installations if professionally done are super pricey.  But you can go the DIY route if you have a lot of patience and can spare some time (and by “some” I mean double the time you think it takes).  To stay within budget, I blew all these balloons up myself (bought wholesale), taped them to my mirror with packing tape, prayed they would stay on but still had to repeat this process 10x cuz so many popped or wouldn’t stay up, then added mirrored Christmas garland, and finally inserted silk flowers in between for a unique, girly look.  It was well worth the effort in the end, I think, don’t you?

princess party, diy balloons, balloon garland danny tableballoon It perfectly echoed the banner across the way and was a major conversation piece that night!balloons

I also did a balloon makeover on an enormous balloon that I brought home one day from the Live Clean blogger brunch.  By adding my own coordinating pom pom string, tulle and paper garland, it became a one-of-a-kind photo prop!

Her feather crown can be purchased wholesale here.

Desserts

She mentioned she wanted sweets.  So I made and formed rice krispy stars, added frosting, gold glitter and a gold straw to create magic wands!

DSC_7592Pink rock candy sticks, jellybeans, and mini cupcakes also contributed to the sugar high.  And pink, gold and silver Hershey kisses hid in crown favor boxes while candy awaited our guests in the form of pretty pink purses.

Happy Birthday sign is actually a cake topper that I bought wholesale here.

Crown favor boxes can be bought wholesale here

The most royal of desserts however, was the princess cake!  Straight out of our dreams, was this glorious Barbie cake, dress, hat and present designed to match our party decor, from Baked by Tal.  AMAZING!

Besides giving the sweets the royal treatment, I picked out the prettiest princess-y paper goods that I could find while perfectly matching her color theme.  By printing, cutting and assembling on my own, I was able to cut costs as well.  The banner, cupcake toppers, invite, thank you card and other event signs and notes can be found here.

Tea party menu included: crown shaped PB&J princess sandwiches, 2 kinds of salad, pasta, chicken and rice, asparagus, fruit and of course, tea which I added pink edible rosebuds to.  Here’s a shot of the sandwiches that I cut using crown-shaped cookie cutters.

princess food, what to serve at kids party, kids party food, pb&j

Gold glitter wall

If you want a picture -perfect party, you MUST think about pretty backdrops!  These princesses were expert posers and I knew I had to have a special spot for them to pick a prop and pose.  Here, I re-used my fold-up backdrop holder and created a shimmery backdrop with a friend’s borrowed gold linen, some pom pom, xmas trim and some leftover plastic tablecloth previously used at a past party.  Everything was simply taped on with packing tape on the back and cost me nothing ‘cuz I just used what I had.  It’s amazing what you can find for your party at the local dollar store!  The shredded pink tablecloth turned garland here was a dollar each and I hand-cut it.  The gold circle confetti was also from the dollar store and I filled my wholesale balloons at the dollar store with helium!

Tablescape

For a sophisticated kids’ tablescape I mixed in paper plates with real plates, bought coordinating teacups on sale on ebay, and found the perfect pink, white and gold paper goods at wholesale prices!

I really wanted a luxe linen but couldn’t afford the rental prices from my favorite linen supplier, Wildflower Linen so I made my own by buying wholesale, 1 yard of glittery mesh fabric from NY’s garment district and adding my own white ruffle trim.  I then sprinkled some diamond confetti pieces (found at Target) all over the table as shown here – majorly upgraded look from the usual child’s plastic table cover, right? how to set a kids party table, tablescape, design kids party, kids party stylistOf course, Juliet got to have her throne.  I found that Exceptional Party Rentals had some of the best throne selections with delivery to/from NYC.

Activities

For this princess tea party, our (hired) princess (and Juliet’s babysitter) gave individualized mini-makeovers giving each guest a turn on the throne.  The girls also got to design their own glass slipper, a craft involving stickers and these wholesale favor shoes.

And they enjoyed the shimmer and shine styling station and a “game of thrones” that I made up and had our resident princess lead.  (think musical chairs but with princess music, thrones, and princesses wearing tiaras)

In the end, everyone had such a blast that they overstayed by 2 more hours!  Nobody wanted the party to end, including me.  See my Instagram and Twitter for more details and videos!

Juliet is already talking about her next birthday party plans… she says it will be a Frozen themed party with 5 friends when she turns 5!

brooklyn art, herve tullet author, press play, this isn't trash, invisible dog art

When children’s book author, Herve Tullet’s team invited us to Brooklyn to see his latest art exhibit, we trekked over the Brooklyn Bridge!  These two minifashionistas had to see “This Isn’t Trash,” (the title to this imaginative artist’s graphic installation) and us mommy bloggers obliged!

The Invisible Dog Art Center where this was held was packed that night with art-lovers looking to get up close and personal with the both the author and his work.  Up-close viewings revealed torn paper, shreds, tape and pieces on the floor left to look a little like trash.

There was even a cardboard box sitting in the middle of the room, there for people to discover, with the label this isn’t trash filled with scrap, torn pieces of his art.  Of course, this was a big hit with the kids!

mommy and me, mommy and me manicures, milk n cookies, nyc kids, things to do with kids nyc

Being the girly girl that she is, Juliet loves manicures and My Little Pony.  So I knew she would have a blast at the limited time only, My Little Pony pop-up at Milk ‘N Cookies Kids’ Spa.  So she wouldn’t get totally spoiled with the spa treatment, I used it as a reward for getting 40 stamps on her new chart, a reward system I made up that includes getting stamps for things like: cleaning up, brushing her teeth, listening well, etc.  She was so proud of her achievement and excited to celebrate with our latest mommy and me adventure. Here she is picking out her nail color (blue and gold glitter)! I chose a light pink and a gold glitter topping for a rose gold mani effect.

The 1100 sq. ft. kids’ spa “features four hair stations, three manicure stations, two pedicure stations. In addition to haircuts, up-dos and washes, the spa services includes mani, pedis and fun facials.”  There are special treatments for boys, as well as mommy and me services too!  Being a huge sweet tooth, I loved the adorable dessert themed offerings like the flavored facials (think lemon, chocolate, strawberry and vanilla), scented “cookie crunch” haircuts and “gummy worm mud pie treatments.”  FUN, right?!?

Moms can rest assured that the kids’ spa nail polishes are organic and safe for kids.

Next up was the My Little Pony inspired ponytail hair styling!  Check out little Juliet getting the total glam treatment – rainbow streaks, glitter and all!

This was truly like a little girl’s dream come true.  Get your hair and nails done, AND walk away with one of your favorite toys too??

To top it off, we got to hang out, play with My Little Pony toys and watch some My Little Pony on their big screen while enjoying our complimentary cookie and milk.

It’s definitely a sweet spot that we’ll return to!  Already she is asking if we can go back to the spa..  better start collecting those stamps I tell her!  Fair warning, if you do decide to try a glittery, colored hairstyle like this, expect to come home and have to wash a bunch of things.  That evening, she left a glitter trail everywhere she went and left me having to wash our white -turned-pastel-sofa slipcovers.  It was like My little Pony came and sprinkled her fairy dust all over our house…  try at your own risk!
