zara

I was never into red.  In fact I used to be baffled at how my mom could wear such a bold, brazen color.  But now that bold pop colors are so in, I’ve grown to like it when paired with a more temperate color like navy.

Blazer Zara, trench coat Sinclaire, pants NY & Co., studded red shoes, Zara.  polka dot shirt NY & Co.

Same NY & Co shirt, Calvin Klein skirt, Cynthia Steffe purse from Marshalls, Vintage earrings.

Calvin Klein skirt, mom’s vintage belt, thrifted cherry blouse, shoes from Shanghai

Now I’m yearning for a pair of cute red shorts!

Every time I wear this blazer, I get compliments.  And each time, I can’t help but think how $30 at H&M goes such a long way.

Forever 21 lacy tank, Express bracelets, necklace from Jasmine (boutique in MA), and I don’t remember the skirt, shoes / purse brands

Here’s another outfit with the same blazer, this time with a Zara black blouse, Victoria’s Secret pants & Rebecca Minkoff purse – I wore this to work.

Below is another work outfit.  This time, I wore it with a polka Dot Lord & Taylor bow-tie blouse, a Bebe pencil skirt that has leather strips down the sides that you can’t see, Jcrew heels and bracelets and a pair of Chanel sunglasses.

Here is another fellow fashion blogger who wore it with glitter and lace and then again with military cargo pants. Isn’t she cute?

And here is yet another blogger wearing MY blazer :)    boy, is it popular!

I’ve worn this dress many times but this is the first time I think I’m posting it.  It’s a Zara dress with sleeves that has shrunk in size with each wash go figure.  I figure I better wear and post now before the slowly rising hemline becomes an unwearable mini.

The cardigan is by Cynthia Steffe and the purse is obviously Hello Kitty.  My husband admitted to me once that he just “can’t resist the cute cat face” (and then proceeded to buy out the Sanrio store in Japan for his very lucky niece).  For more style diary entries with the Cynthia Steffe cardigan, click here!

Isn’t this shoe closet amazing?  It’s Christina Aguilera’s.  Besides the fuschia, black white combo, what also caught my eye were the chandeliers and houndstooth.  I’m loving houndstooth these days.  Not knowing there was such a word to describe the pattern, my husband once described this print as the computerized digital print.  Haha he is so NOT into fashion.  Here’s my outfit which was inspired by the room above.

Here, I’m wearing a H&M dress with an exposed zipper in the back which you can’t see, a tuxedo blazer from Bebe’s clearance rack and heels by Zara.   The purse was cheap so I think the whole outfit only costed about $150.

Now if only I could replicate these nails…

I get tons of compliments on this navy lace blouse by H&M.  It was a classic cut, somewhat inspired by Kate Middleton’s dress shown here.

Here I wore the top over the summer with a Calvin Klein pencil skirt and studded red flats from Zara.

I wore the top to work again with a pair of khaki slacks (not pictured here) and again today with a navy pleated skirt and rasbery colored tights.

Can you believe my outfit only costed $120 dollars?  The colored tights were $1 at the dollar store haah  The Juicy purse was a present that I’d be willing to sell for the right price.  Let me know if you want to make an offer!

In this post, I’ll show you how I styled this black lace blouse from Zara - a purchase I had made over 5 years ago.

Today I wore the blouse with my new Zara tweed blazer.  It hardly shows in the pictures but the blazer has a slight sheen to it since the thread is a bit metallic.  Going for the Chanel-inspired look, I wore my chain necklace, leather skirt and Chanel chain purse.  I ran our store’s trunk shows, partnership with a local gym, champagne reception and live DJ during a series of work events in this outfit.

I’m also thinking about wearing it next with my DKNY, exposed zipper dress shown here.  Worn as an underpinning, I layered it with this sheath dress, while using the same necklace, shoes and purse for a completely different look.

Lastly, the bouse is worn under my bold striped blazer and pants from Bebe.  The Rebecca Minkoff purse was free. Yes FREE!!  My fabulous co-worker gave it to me – apparently it was a gift from the corporate summit he attended.  Only in fashion do you walk away with gifts this amazing!

Don’t you love finding a designer look for less? I’m all about mixing the high and low.  For instance, I’ll wear my high-end designer purses with frugal but fab finds.  I’m no fashion snob.  I love vintage, I love discount retailers and I love stores like Zara, H&M and even Forever 21 that bring you looks for less.

I’m getting compliments left and right about this Balmain knockoff jacket that I found at Forever 21.  Everyone assumes its some famous designer and I’m always asked where i bought it.  With its quilted  black leather and silver chains you would think Karl Lagerfeld was all over this (maybe Balmain first copied Chanel?).  With a little research, I learned that the Balmain jacket pictured below (the obvious inspiration behind my F1 jacket) costs $10,770(choke).  Ehem, I only paid a mere 30some dollars.

Here I paired the F21 jacket with 2different dresses, and again with skinny pants and a tee.

Balmain knockoff quilted jacket – Forever 21, dress – Zara, purse – Chanel, studded shoes – Jlo

ruffle flower print spaghetti strap dress – Free People I think..bought it at TJ Maxx quilted Balmain knockoff jacket – Forever 21, black suede studded heels – JLo, black chain purse – Chanel

quilted Balmain knockoff jacket – Forever 21, tee shirt – Club Monaco, black pinstriped skinny pants – Zara, purse – Express

Which outfit is your favorite look?

Tell me how you would wear the jacket.  I love getting new outfit inspirations.
